50 Years of Excellence… The History of Knilans'
Knilans' and its proud tradition of dedicated customer service began in 1955. Bob and
Virginia Knilans purchased an old farmhouse on Brady Street in Davenport and opened a
furniture store. Some years later, they purchased the house next door and expanded.
In 1969, Pete Schlicksup, a student at St. Ambrose College, answered an ad for a
part-time job at the store. Nearly a decade later, Pete and his wife Judy purchased the
store from the Knilans. Since then, Knilans' has undergone three additional expansions and
now offers nearly 10,000 square feet of classic furniture displayed beautifully in 38
designer decorated rooms.
Today, the tradition of quality and service continues as Pete and Judy's son, Tim joins
the store. Tim's enthusiasm and passion are sure to lead Knilans' Furniture into another
50 years of excellence. |
