Designers work tirelessly to ensure your completed room fits your space, taste, and lifestyle.

What does “made to measure” really mean? When taken literally, it means to specifically fit a particular person or place. But can that really happen in your home, with your furniture? Yes, it can! With careful measurements and planning, it really can!

Interior Design Measurements

As designers, we’re trained to take a set of blueprints or room measurements and create floor plans for your furnishings, to make sure they fit your space. There is usually more than one way to arrange a room, and we explore those possibilities to find the best way. Things to consider:

  • Is there sufficient room to walk around?

  • Is your chair in the right spot for reading or watching TV?

  • Do you have enough seating for family and friends?

  • Do you have sufficient lighting?

  • Do you have enough storage?

  • Does your furniture fit in your room?

All concerns can be addressed before you purchase anything.

Tailor Made Furniture

Our upholstery vendors now offer great programs that give us, as designers, and you, as the consumer, a way to get exactly what you need, and want, in fit and styling. You have many options! For pieces like sofas and chairs, we can select from different arm, back, and base choices, for looks, adjust seat depth, back height, and cushioning for comfort, and choose from multiple lengths, sleeper components, numerous sectional pieces, swivel and glide options to fit your room and lifestyle. We then customize further with hundreds of fabrics and leathers. All these choices are made to fit you, your style, and your comfort.

Our dining table vendors give similar options, in terms of sizing, the number of leaves, bases, and finishes. Through a collection of choices, you can have a more formal traditional room, a really clean modern space, or somewhere in between!

Your options are nearly unlimited, but all these choices are often, more than what you want to navigate alone. As interior designers, this is what we do. We’ll help you find furniture that fits your lifestyle fits your room, and fits you - all at Knilans’.
